Currently in post-production, Eyes Down is a 4 minute short film that depicts MARY, (60s), a trans woman early in her transition on her maiden journey on a public bus.
The aim of the project is to position audiences on the side of main character Mary, and to bring representation of trans-people in Scotland to the screen. The project shows that even though someone is living their truth, they can still be in need of inclusion and friendship to make them feel accepted and value.
We have received our final donation and can confirm that our total funds raised for the film was £1200.00! This has surpassed our goal and expectations by so much and we cannot begin to thank you all enough. It is not only through monetary donations but also through general enthusiasm, love, and support for the story, the character and the film that has meant we have been able to achieve what we set out to. To those who don't know us personally and just want to support a project that means something to them, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It takes a lot of trust to back a vision when you don't know how it will turn out. For everyone, I hope that the finished film will be something you enjoy, I have a feeling it will be!
As promised, we are donating 10% of our film funds raised to the Scottish Trans Alliance, this means we will donate £120.00 (plus £30.00 donation) = £150.00 . Please visit https://www.scottishtrans.org/ to see how your donation is helping to advocate for TransRights and fight for Trans equality in Scotland. We would like to thank the STA for their involvement and support in the project.
